VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Mike McDonough Memorial Greenway Cleanup: Rotarians get down and dirty and come together twice a year (spring & fall) to clean up a section of the St. Vrain Greenway from S. Pratt to Sunset followed by a happy hour social.
Downtown Clean & Green. Get your hands dirty at the annual Longmont Downtown Development Authority’s Clean & Green event held in May. Rotarians provide labor to plant flowers and other vegetation, clean alleys and sidewalks, repaint benches and many other projects to beautify the downtown area.

OUR Center Outreach: The OUR Center, a local non-profit dedicated to moving individuals and families toward self-sufficiency. Each year, Twin Peaks Rotary Club purchases, prepares and serves two meals at the OUR Center to those in need. By serving these meals, we not only give back to the community, we also lower the OUR Center’s overall operating costs with our free labor and free up funds that the OUR Center can put toward other services. Lunch is served at the OUR Center 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day and requires several Rotarians for two different shifts:

  1. Shift #1—10:00 AM to 12:00 PM—food prep/cook, serve meals
  2. Shift #2—12:00-2:00 PM—serve meals, cleanup

4-Way Test Training at Skyline High School. This event allows us as civic leaders and business professionals to have a positive impact on the ethical formation of young people’s lives. This community service is held over two days for each semester (usually January and September). Volunteers are needed to be a discussion leader with ethical situations using the 4-way test as a guide for one or both days from 7:45 to 10am.

Books for ChristmasPlease consider donating a gift wrapped book for young children to be given out by Santa in December.

Great opportunities for Service Above Self. To participate in the above events contact Shawn Lewis at shawn.lewis@longmontcolorado.gov
